In Bangladesh, an estimated 5,000 to 6,000 children are born each year with a cleft lip or palate. Today, around 300,000 children are living with unrepaired cleft conditions—many due to limited access to specialized care. Without treatment, these children face serious challenges with eating, speaking, and social acceptance. Organizations like Smile Bangladesh are working to change that by providing free, life-changing surgeries. In just one hour, a cleft surgery can transform a child’s future.
